We had a good turnout for our Kids Christmas party this year. We had 28 kids and alomost 70 people there. The kids did coloring pages, made Christmas ornaments, and won a cake on the cake walk. Santa came and gave everyone a gift. Thanks to all who helped decorate and setup the hall. Thanks also for all the families that came out and had a good time. We are having the kids Christmas party on Sat Dec 15 at the post bingo hall. All are invited. We will have Christmas coloring pages to color, ornaments to decorate for the kids to take home, a cake walk to win the cakes, and Santa to visit to hand out treats to all the good little boys and girls. We have 54 members that have had their dues run out already this year. They have until Dec 31 to renewor they lose their continuous membership. The turn out at the fair was great. We raised over $600 between raffels and buddy poppies. We handed out over 20 applications for the VFW and Ladies Aux. We also handed out numerous VOD and PP and Ladies Coloring contest papers. I hope we get back at least half this year. Continue reading ...

Kyrk Westbrook, Jimmy Rixson, and Mark Decker went to 6 of the outlaying cemeteries today and put out about 200 crosses and flags. Greenlawn and Memory Gardens still need to be done on Saturday afternoon. Anyone interested in helping can meet at the post at noon to get crosses and flags on Sat. VFW posr 2182 is having many activities over Memorial Day weekend. All help is encouraged and would be welcome. On Fri May 25th at 0800 we will meet to head out to the out of town cemeteries to put out crosses. Memorial Day is only 2 months away. We have wood and paint and nails to make new crosses. We need to replace some of our old ones and we have to put out new ones. We have new and updated stats for March: VFW post 2182 now has 273 members out of a total of 285 from last year. We are at 95.79%. Only 12 more for 100%for year. Keep up the good work. State Convention was this past weekend. We now have our newly elected officers in place for 2011-2012. The convention was a success for Post 2182. The MOC received many awards including the top award for the state. The Ladies Aux also brought many awards home this year. April 9th awards banquet was a great success. We had 16 Patriot's Pen and 1 Jr. Art contestant present. Awards were also given out to Smitty, Dwayne Jesse, and the Honor Guard.

Sat Oct 30th kids party was great. We had 20 kids. We had pumkin walks, then they painted the pumpkins they won, decorated their own cupcakes, coloring pages to color. Certificates were given out for 1st and 2nd in best costume, and 1st in best pumpkin. All attendees had fun. They all look forward to Christmas party and next years Halloween party. Explain to them what the benefits are, and what we do for veterans.
