AWARDS BANQUET

We had our annual awards banquet on Saturday night. Thanks to all of the kids who participated in our programs for coming out. Thank you for all your help teachers and principles that did all of the work in the schools. And thank you to the Ladies Aux ladies that made the food and decorated the place. Thanks to the kitchen staff for clean up after the banquet. For those members that came out, thanks for your support. Have a great year and hope it goes better next year.

The post will be having our annual Awards banquet for Patriot's Pen, Voice of Democracy, Teacher Awards, and the Ladies coloring contest winners on April 13th at 5 PM. RSVP back to the post by April 7th if you will be attending. All are welcome to help celebrate the kids' recognition.

RAFFLE TICKETS

The San Juan County Quilters Guild has made 3 quilts and donated them to us. We have tickets for sale at $5 each or 3 for $10. The raffle will last until the last day of the San Juan County fair in August. Tickets are available from any member of the VFW or the Ladies Aux.

We are currently taking items and names for Christmas baskets. If you would like to donate please bring by the post any food items you would like to donate. Also if you know of a family in need of a basket please pass the name of the family and a contact to the post.

WELCOME HOME DINNER FOR NATIONAL GUARD

On Tues Dec 11 we will welcome home the National Guard unit from thier year long deployment. We are also planning a welcome home dinner in Feb for them and thier families.

LADIES AUX COLORING CONTEST

We had over 2 dozen entries in the K-5 grade coloring contest the ladies Aux put on this year. We had some very good art work. The winners will be annouced at he awards banquet in the spring. Thanks to all who entered. We look forward to doing it again next year.

We had over 400 Patriot's pen entries this year. The selection committee narrowed it down to the top 3. They were submitted to district for judging at district. We also had our first Voice of Democracy entry in over a decade. It was very well done. That was also submitted to district for judging. Good luck to all the winners that were forwarded to district. Thanks to all who participated in the contests. We had a excellent turnout this year.

SEPT MEETING

We had our meeting Saturday. Not much was passed. The SJ Standdown has been moved to Sat Oct 27. If anyone is interested in helping contact Beverly Charlie at NM Workforce. We have our District 1 meeting on Sat at Farmington post. Hope to see many of you there.

SEPT HAPPENINGS

In Sept the ladies have a meeting on Sept 5 at 7 PM. The commrades have a meeting on Sept 8 at 10 AM. The MOC have a meeting on Sept 8 at 9 AM. The house committee has a meeting on Sept 8 at 9:30 AM. District 1 has both comrades and Ladies meetings at Farmington post on Sept 13 at 1PM with luncheon at Noon. All who are eligible for participation in these meetings are welcome to attend.
